- Introduced in 2004.
- Conceptualised to promote holistic education.
- Participating secondary schools have the autonomy
to decide who to admit via DSA Exercise. - Not a centralized posting exercise.

- Successful DSA candidates will not be allowed to
make any school option in the centralised S1
Posting Exercise.
Important to note
9Successful DSA Students -Application For Special
Programmes
- May be eligible for special language programmes
based on their PSLE results. - If eligible and wish to take up special language
programmes - submit option during S1 Option
period. - Those offered Edusave scholarships will be
informed.
10Successful DSA Students Who Are In Option Band
- Successful DSA student with PSLE aggregate within
the Option Band, Express/N(A) band or the
N(A)/N(T) band, if allocated to a school which
offers both courses, is allowed to select a
course of his preference during the S1 Option. - This student will have to submit his preferred
course during the S1 Option.
11Unsuccessful DSA Students
- Will be issued with a S1 Option Form, informing
them that their DSA application were
unsuccessful. - Have to submit their school choices during the S1
Option period to participate in the S1 Posting
Exercise.
12Changes in 2008 DSA-Sec Exercise
- Increase in the number of DSA participating
secondary schools from 56 to 66. - DSA-Sec Internet System, an additional channel
for candidates to submit their school preferences
online.

22S1 Option Form
- All PSLE pupils will be given a personalized
- S1 Option Form together with their PSLE
results. - Indicate childs secondary school options by
completing the S1 Option Form. - Submit
- hardcopy to primary school within 5 working days
or - electronically via S1 Internet System within 7
days (including Sat and Sun)
23Proxy Form
- Parents not in Singapore must authorize someone
to collect the PSLE results and submit the option
form. - The following forms are required for
verification - Completed Proxy Form
- Photocopy of parents NRIC (both sides)
- Photocopy of Birth certificate of the pupil
- NRIC of authorized person

- Release of Posting results (late Dec before
Christmas) - Registration at secondary school the next day
- Appeal for transfer after Posting (to be done at
secondary school posted to)

- Subject to availability of vacancies and will be
considered only for - Pupils with serious medical problems
- Pupils whose addresses have changed
- Pupils with ASD and Dyslexia
- Pupils with physical disabilities
