What does the Discipline Policy look like?

Medication
  • Not allowed on school grounds is safest for all
  • Over the counter medication can become a
    violation. If you can take it at home you are
    expected to take it at home.
  • Any medication that is carried must be over the
    counter-non prescription pain relieving
    medication like Tylenol and Ibuprofen.
  • If Benedryl or other a signed form is required
    from home and DR. and it is to remain in the
    nurses office.
  • PINK for Dr. orders and parent supportmeds kept
    in nurses office. See Millie for help.

Health Office
  • Passes are required to enter Health Office
  • Use for appropriate reasons, fever, illness,
    physical symptoms
  • Not a place to plan to sleep
  • Please respect that the health office is
    available to serve who present health concerns.

  • Providing a bridge to specific resources and many
    comprehensive services to support youth and
    families.

  • Yes, you can
  • Investigations
  • Criminal charges could be filed
  • Seek staff, counselor, administrator for help

  • Every student has an obligation to retreat

Can you define Hazing?
  • Committing an act against a student, or coercing
    a student into committing an act, that creates a
    substantial risk of harm to a person in order for
    the student to become initiated into a student
    organization
  • SAHS is a student organization, activities,
    clubs, etc.
  • Could include physical or emotional components,
    forcing the use of chemicals, or depriving
    individuals of basic needs

  • Missing ½ of the period is considered an
    unexcused absence
  • Its the law!
  • Compulsory attendance for 15-17 yr olds
  • Washington County Truancy
  • AIM Meeting is critical!

Whats the difference between an excused and
unexcused absence?
  • Excused absences are verified
  • Medical Appointments, illness, court, family
    emergency/funeral or admin approved absence
  • Make appointments after school hours
  • Make up work is your responsibility
  • Unexcused absences
  • Absences not approved
  • Skipping, leaving class, forging notes,
    oversleeping, missing bus, leaving school grounds
    may result in loss of parking permit
  • Work credit may not be given/expectations may
    include completing the work

  • Expected to have student ID
  • Correctly ID yourself to adults, adults should do
    the same

  • Failure to ID yourself could lead to disciplinary
    action

  • Lock down drills are taken seriously as are all
    emergency planning drills

  • Please respect the process

    classroom.
  • Move away from windows and doors.
  • Turn off all cell phones/electronics
