The Parable of the Prodigal Son
  • Aim- To consider the feelings of the three main
    characters in the parable and the moral of the
    parable.
  • Why!
  • Imagine that you are the younger son. You are
    hungry and working for a pig farmer. You want to
    return to your father but you are scared. So you
    write your father a letter instead, saying you
    are sorry and that you would like to come home.

  • To consider the message Jesus was conveying in
    the parable

  • Imagine that you are the elder son, you are angry
    because your younger brother has come home and
    your father is throwing a party for him.
  • Before you go and speak to your father you write
    an entry into your diary saying how angry you
    are.

  • Starter! In your books note down metaphors/images
    for the following types of people-
  • People who are always busy
  • People who never listen
  • People who start things but never finish them

  • To be able to explain the message behind the
    miracles Jesus performed

What is a miracle ?People use the word
miracle in many different ways. The dictionary
defines the word miracle as being 'something that
cannot be explained by rational means'. The
Jews believed in miracles, they believe that God
delivered them out of slavery in Egypt by parting
the Red Sea.

  • The depth of Gods love
