Title: Raymond Isaac Coffey
1I am the master of my fate I am the captain of
my soul
INVICTUS
OUT of the night that covers me, Black as the
Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may
be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell
clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor
cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of
chance My head is bloody, but
unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and
tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And
yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall
find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait
the gate, How charged with punishments the
scroll, I am the master of my fate I am the
captain of my soul.

Raymond Isaac Coffey 4 July 1935 to 4 June 2009
He was born on the 4th of July, Americas
Independence Day, and perhaps that was prophetic
for from the days of his early childhood,
throughout his youth, and later as a young man
and mature gentleman, everyone who met Ray Coffey
seemed to sense they were in the presence of
someone of substance. For everyone who knew him,
like his father before him, they recognized Ray
Coffey was someone on whom they could count for
sharing his extensive knowledge and wisdom. For
his extended family, which includes all of the
friends adopted both domestically and abroad, Ray
Coffey was the person to seek for solid advice,
great compassion, and unwavering support. For
his wife, five children and ten grandchildren, he
was our Husband, our Dad, our Granddaddy and our
Rock. Middle age health crises reoriented Ray
and his wife, Gerrys, focus towards nutrition
and fitness and added years to their lives.
Their accumulated knowledge resulted in
invitations to speak at World Congresses in many
different countries. Such travel prompted Gerry
to give Ray a new nick name Home, because no
matter where they went on Gods green earth, as
long as she was with him she was HOME. For
the years we had our Rock AND our HOME, we
are grateful. For the years ahead when we will
have our Rock and our HOME guiding us, we
are blessed.

In his favorite poem, Invictus, by William
Earnest Henley, Ray Coffey not only aspired to be
The Master of his Fate and The Captain of his
Soul, he achieved it. May he Rest In Peace
knowing his life was much appreciated and well
spent.
