• We have representatives from 12 of 15 first
  Nations as well as three Metis locals
• Two First Nations chose to be observers and six
  have nominated members to sit on the council
• Tremendous legwork required
• First Nation visits
• Complex structure
• Many stakeholders different backgrounds

• PVSD will continue to invite all potential
  partners to participate in the work of the
  advisory council and be respectful of their
  choice whether or not to participate
• The continuation or potential termination of the
  Advisory Council is contingent upon the impact
  of the work of the Advisory Council has on
  policies and practices in PVSD.

• Tied to ATFSL
• The Advisory Council will be reviewing an
  Elders/Cultural advisor handbook recently created
  by PVSD
• Handbook not a new idea but is vital to create
  understanding and establishing and maintaining
  local contacts increases relationships
