Building Networks
  • By setting up Working Groups and/or solidarity
networks with regard to specific multinationals,
involving the largest number of unions in all the
    regions.
  • By Strengthen the International Working Group on
Multinationals, as well as the existing Working
Groups on Multinationals in Asia, Africa, the
    Americas and Europe.
  • By Build and update databases with regard to the
    main multinationals in the sector.
  • By Develop comparative charts with regard to the
behaviour of the companies and the situation of
    the unions in each multinational.
  • By Encourage, at the national level, the
coordination of actions among the different
unions that negotiate with the same company
  • By Promote, along with the national unions,
training and an understanding of the global
dimension for union representatives in these

    exchange information and coordinate global
    actions

5
UNI G-EWC Working together Why?
  • Because if the company is global, we should have
    global strategies
  • Because we should fight against the double
moral of some companies that respect human and
trade union rights in some countries, having at
the same time an agressive anti union behaviour
    in others.
  • Because the voice of the members of the EWCs can
be effective to persuade companies to have
    corporate social responsability
  • Because to speak with the same voice make us
strong before the companies, at regional, global
    and local levels.

Why a global agreement?
  • Global agreements are very valuable tools to
ensure that core labour standards laid down by
the ILO are observed, wherever the companies
    operate.
  • Trough global agreements (signed between UNI and
multinational companies) we defend the rights of
the workers to form and to belong to a Union and
    to collective bargain.

    and to act locally

    different levels of the Unions
