About the Teacher
My name is Lesa Haney. I have been at Camey
Elementary for six years and am looking forward
to learning with you this year!

Morning Arrival
750-815

• Students may enter the room at 750 a.m.
• If you enter the room after 800 a.m., you will
  need a tardy slip. Please go to the office to
  pick it up before coming to class.
• Put away your backpack and lunchbox.
• Do your lunch count.
• Be in your seat working quietly on morning work
  when announcements begin at 805 a.m.

Math
815-915

• We begin math instruction immediately after
  announcements so it is important that you are
  here on time ?
• Our math curriculum is very hands on. Students
  will learn to be mathematical thinkers and
  develop problem solving skills.

Language Arts
915-1115

• Our instruction is presented in a workshop
  format.
• Students will participate in mini-lessons and
  then practice skills learned as they read and
  write.

Lunch
1115-1145
You are welcome to come eat lunch with your child
any time. There will be a special visitor table
set aside for you and your child.

Recess
1145-1215
Our school has developed new school wide recess
rules. Your child will be learning these during
the first few days of school.

Oral Literacy

We will end our day reading a good book.
Teachers, students, and/or special guests will
read aloud to us. Parents, grandparents, and
other adults are invited to come read to the
class. Please speak to Mrs. Haney to schedule
this.

Afternoon Dismissal
255-300

• Daycare Bus riders will dismiss at 255
• Walkers and parent pick up will dismiss at 300.
  Second grade dismisses out of the back doors that
  face the playground. Please decide upon a
  meeting place with your child so they will know
  where to go on Monday.

Homework
Your child will have homework Monday-Thursday.
A homework schedule will be attached to the
newsletter you receive each week. It will also
be available online at www.mrshaney.org under

Classroom Management
We use a token economy based management system.
Students can earn classroom dollars by exhibiting
positive classroom behavior. They may also be
required to pay bills for behavior that takes
away from a positive learning environment. More
information will be sent home the first week of
school.
