What is an Adjective?

• An adjective is a word that describes a noun.
• In the following examples the red word is the
  adjective
• Cold weather
• Large windows
• Heavy elephants
• Pretty lady

Adjectives

• Adjectives can also be easily recognized by their
  endings, such as ful, -less, or ous.
• Beautiful, breathless, and dangerous are
  adjectives that describe the following nouns
• Beautiful flower
• Breathless runner
• Dangerous fire

Read the following paragraph and click on the
adjectives

• The naughty girl ran out of the big house. Then
  Mom heard a loud scream from outside! She raced
  to the brown door and guess what she saw? Her
  beautiful daughter was looking into the eyes of a
  hairy spider!
