Women Win Fellows

• Inspired by Ashoka Fellows model for social
  entrepreneurs
• For brilliant and innovative women who
  contribute significantly
• to the advancement of societies and address
  social problems through sport as a strategy for
  empowerment of girls and women
• The fellows are active in at least one of the
  three areas
• 1) Development of innovative sport programme as a
  means of empowerment of girls and women
• 2) Advocating for sports as a strategy towards
  gender equality and empowerment
• 3) Doing research around the impact of sport on
  social change and gender equality
• Up to five fellows will be selected per year,
  with financial support for one year. This period
  can be extended to a maximum of three years.

Selection Criteria

• What characterizes a Women Win fellow?
• Women Wins selection process is anchored by our
  five criteria against which all Fellow candidates
  are evaluated
• Commitment to advance womens rights Commitment
  and passion for the advancement of womens rights
  and sport as a strategy for empowerment for girls
  and women
• Innovation the Fellow tackles an issue that is
  either significantly different, or in a different
  context from other efforts in the region or
  globally
• Social change impact the Fellows ideas and
  work will change the field significantly in
  empowering girls and women and having lasting
  social change impact
• Contribution to global movement building the
  Fellows work will contribute significantly to
  influencing new and current stakeholders in
  building of a global movement for sport as a
  strategy for empowerment for girls and women
• Ethical fiber the Fellow is someone who walks
  the talk of Women Win values courage, strength,
  leadership, respect for diversity, collaborative
  working, transparency in actions. Someone who can
  be trusted absolutely to act in the interests of
  women.

Expectations for Fellows

• Letter of Agreement details out expected inputs
  and deliverables for duration of Fellows grant
• Fellows required to attend annual Fellow
  meeting (one day prior) and Programme Partner
  meeting to share experiences and spread learnings
  within programme partner network
• Fellows expected to contribute to the annual
  publication of Empowering Girls and Women
  through Sport through brainstorming content,
  writing pieces, blogging, reviewing others
  publications
• Fellows encouraged to present on behalf of Women
  Win at conferences or events
