5- Program versus Project
- Program - the plan for the renovation of Main
Street that establishes a definite target area
and outlines goals for NYMS activities, without
necessarily identifying which properties will be
assisted with NYMS funds - Project individual buildings, or streetscape
sites, that will be improved using New York Main
Street funds. Project may be identified after
award but prior to the start of rehabilitation.

16NYMS Fall 2008 Funding Round
- Building Renovation Grants to building owners
for renovation of first floor commercial or civic
space up to 30,000 per building, plus up to an
additional 30,000 for each renovated residential
unit, not to exceed 75 of the total project cost
or 120,000 per building, whichever is less. -
- Downtown Anchors Grants to building owners of up
to 500,000 per building, but not exceeding 33
of project cost, to help establish or expand
cultural, civic or business anchors that are
identified in a local plan as key to local
