What have I been doing?

• Nuclear rescattering at Jlab
• New dataset
• Just submitted proposal to CLAS collaboration for
  permission to do analysis. Steve will present
  proposal at collaboration meeting this weekend
  (at Jlab)
• Will hear more about this in near future (next
  week or 2...)
• FMP Assembly

FMP Status

• We arrived at FNAL February 16 with our tooling
  and materials
• Have spent last 10 days outfitting WB Hall for
  FMP assembly.
• Unpacking
• Work surface for scintillator prep
• Have received planes and unpacked first one.

General WBHall Outfitting

• Wideband is big empty space.
• Weve unloaded truck, unpacked our tools.
• Lab can provide general furnishings
• storage cabinets,
• shelving,
• lab benches...
• Weve had to do a lot of running around.
• No wireless access....

Scintillator Prep Station
Cut back to allow easy access for tecnicians

• First step is to prep scintillator
• Marking layout/plane ID
• PB collar/absorber material
• FMP planes are not to spec and will need to be
  shimmed
• Built large worksurface
• Slightly larger than plane
• Bumper allows quick check of dimensional
  tolerance...
• Shimming guide
• Will aid Pb installation

Scintillator

• Received crate from Jeff last Thursday (22 Feb).
• Much better construction no shipping damage
• Contains all OD and ID scintillator units for FMP

Scintillator Inspection

• Dimensions
• U plane is fairly close to spec.
• X plane is narrow by 2 inches
• Will make shims later today
• Visual inspection of connector polish
• Generally good structurally
• 1 crack in plane
• Jeff says 2nd plane compromised
• Have done a quick test with vacuum lifting
  fixture.

Status/timeline

• Will not have Pb absorber until spring
  (purchasing glitch)
• Timeline
• Today Frame welding/scintillator prep. Shim
  out narrow dimensions on smaller plane.
• Tomorrow Will assemble module.
• Post collab. mtg Instrumentation/PMT/electronics
  integration. Source tests
• Spring? Install Pb and run additional source
  tests.
