What is ACCESS?

• a network gathering around 100 local authorities
  from both EU and non-EU countries, which are
  committed to promote a new mobility culture
  throughout Europe
• combat congestion
• improve air quality
• reduce greenhouse gas emissions and noise
• ? Improve quality of life of all our citizens

ACCESS Activities

• Influence the European agenda to ensure that the
  views of member towns and cities are taken into
  account in policy development
• ACCESS Response to the Commissions White Paper
  European Transport Policy for 2010 Time to Decide

• Promote a dynamic exchange of information and
  experience between member towns cities in order
  to profit from best practice, understand shared
  problems and find common solutions

  public awareness of the need for sustainable
  mobility in towns and cities of Europe

  practical projects across Europe, e.g. through
  involvement in European projects
• MOST EPOMM (mobility management)
• BESTUFS (urban freight transport)
• SMILE (sustainable urban mobility)
• CIVITAS (pioneer cities in urban sustainable
  mobility policies)
• INTEGAIRE

ACCESS in INTEGAIRE

• Bring in experience of its members on topics of
  air quality in relation to transport
• Guarantee members involvement in providing input
  for discussions and in the dissemination of the
  projects outcomes

• Participation in meetings in Brussels, Bristol
  and Venice
• WP 2 feedback and comments on website and
  leaflet
• WP 3 feedback and comments on working documents
  input for Integaires comments on CAFE

• WP 5 feedback and comments on questionnaire
  contribution to discussion on possible issues
  topics elaboration of two topics, i.e. How to
  improve travel demand? The potential of Mobility
