NEW RACE FOR THE CURE DEVELOPMENTS
  • The Team Captain Challenge
  • This year, Komen is challenging all team captains
    to encourage all team members to raise 50 or
    more. If every team member on your team raises
    50 or more, then you will receive a prize (prize
    to be announced in May).
  • Each member must have at least 50 designated
    under his/her name specifically.
  • All donations must be received or postmarked by
    October 31, 2009.
  • The prizes will be mailed in December 2009.

  • Friends for the Cure Individual Fundraising
    Pledge Program
  • Make the most of your Race effort by collecting
    pledges to support the Upstate Affiliate. When
    you do, you will join the Friends for the Cure
    initiative and will be eligible to receive prizes
    listed below.
  •  Grand prizes for top two fundraisers (Raise
    1,000 minimum)
  • Win one (1) round-trip ticket on American or
    American Eagle Airlines for travel within the 48
    contiguous states. Limit one (1) ticket per
    household.
  • Prizes will be given to fundraisers according to
    the following Friends for the Cure levels (more
    prizes to be determined)

  • I AM THE CURE Pledge-U-Cation
  • The Upstate Friends for the Cure pledge program
    is a fun and effective way to raise money for the
    cause. As the pledge program begins, Susan G.
    Komen for the Cure wants to be sure that our
    educational outreach expands as well. Many
    people want to raise money but dont want know
    how to get started.
  • Go to www.IAMTHECURE.org. The website will allow
    you to download and customize helpful tools to
    fit your pledge-u-cation efforts. The I AM THE
    CURE. breast health messages are incorporated
    into each of these pieces.
  • The website has available to following tools for

  • Can Use Same Username and Password as Last Year!
    We've made it easy for veteran participants to
    skip the registration process and use their
    accounts from last year. The Enable Account
    Verification option gives your registrants a page
    with two options Create a new account, or
    sign-in with last year's username and password.
    If you forget your Username or Password, it can
    be emailed to you from the registration page.
  • Import your Existing Email Address Books Through
    a partnership with Plaxo.com, the Artez solution
    now allows registrants to easily bring their
    Outlook, Gmail, and AOL contact lists into the
    system, making those addresses available for team
    and individual solicitation.
  • You Can Videos and More Picture to Individual
    Team Fundraising Page You can now upload 3
    videos from YouTube and/or 3 images onto your
    personal and team web pages, allowing a more
    personalized message to potential supporters.
  • Public Message Board This feature will allow
    people visiting your Team page or your Individual
    page to leave messages as they donate!

    prior to joining themselves.
  • Team Page Welcome Back Functionality Members
    of a team can use their existing Username and
    Password (from a previous year) on the Team Page
    to expedite their online registration.
  • Online Fundraising Streamline Asking of
    Previous Donors Previous participants can now
    easily resend emails based on their list of
    donors who have supported them in those prior
    years.
  • Team Reports Team Captains will be able to
    print off a complete team report of all their
    team members, including T-shirt sizes.
