Thrie Beam End Shoes

Problem When two pieces of thrie beam are lapped
correctly (in the direction of traffic), it is
difficult to fit the thrie beam end shoe inside
the rail in a manner that allows the bolts to go
through both pieces of rail and the end shoe
without modifying the end shoe by routing out the
holes. Our standards do not permit modifying
the end shoe. When the shoe is lapped over the
nested thrie beam (on the departing end) there is
less fit-up difficulty. Solution 1)Diagonally
slotted end shoe (acceptable but not
required). 2)Place the end shoe between the two
pieces of nested rail. (acceptable but not
required) Modifying the end shoe is unacceptable.
