Students please take care when choosing the type
and style of shoe that you wear to school.
Injuries have occurred to students feet who
choose to wear flip flops and high heels. You
may wear them but use caution. Someone may step
on your toes or bump into you in the hall.
10Sunglasses For outside only!
Students are not permitted to wear sunglasses in
the building. Sunglasses must be stored in your
locker or in your book bag. Please do not wear
them on your head or around your neck.
11GentlemenPants Dos and Donts
- NHS student must wear pants that are appropriate.
Use the following guidelines to determine if
your pants are dress code appropriate.
- Appropriate pants will be worn at the natural
waistline and will not revel undergarments
regardless if the shirt is covering the pants.
- Appropriate pants do not have holes or rips more
than 5 inches above the knee.
- Appropriate pants do not sag and drag the
ground.
- Appropriate pants do have attachments that can
injure the student or others.

appropriate. Use the following guidelines to
determine if your shirts are dress code
appropriate. - Appropriate shirts will not be open down the side
under the arm.
- Appropriate shirts will be buttoned and not show
the students chest or undershirt.
- Appropriate shirts are not undershirts or tank
tops.

- Shorts, skirts, culottes, and dresses may be
worn, but must be near the knee in length.
- Students may use the 5 inches above the knee as a
guideline to determine proper length. Clothing
items not meeting this guideline are not
acceptable. - Holes in clothing must also meet the 5 inch
guideline to be worn to school.

29Consequences for Dress Code Violations
- Students who are determined to be in violation of
the NHS dress code must alter their dress before
they will be allowed to enter the classroom.
- Students who can not alter their dress will be
place in ISS for the remainder of the day.
- Students who repeatedly violate the dress code
will receive discipline up to Out of School
Suspension.
