Barriers to use of Skype
  • Banned at workplace (12)
  • Poor audio quality sometimes (5)
  • None (3)
  • Probably just inertia to start on something new!
  • Don't know enough about it to say
  • Can be disruptive of workflow if not used
    properly
  • Time zone differences would pose a problem

13
Skype Discussion
  • Very useful but is it really ready since a good
proportion of users are barred from work access?
  • Is it still useful to exchange Skype usernames so
that those who can use it will use it?
  • Is it best as a one-to-one tool where those who
can use it take advantage and those who cant
    catch up when they can?

14
Elluminate
  • Broadcasting interactive online seminars
    (Webinars)
  • Conducting audio and web conferences
  • Group brainstorming, problem solving and
    think-tanking
  • Going over data, docs and processes with
    collaborators
  • Hosting organizational and committee meetings
  • Web resource training

Elluminate Discussion
  • How many people have attended an Elluminate
    session?
  • How many people have barriers to using it? What
    are they?
  • How useful are the recordings of the meeting?
  • How many people would like to use it for a mini
ICE to be held in between in-person meetings?
  • How many people would like to use it for other
    uses?
  • Can it replace full ICE meetings if travel funds
    no longer exist?
