• After studying the reading passage, the related
  vocabulary (from The ESL Miscellany) and grammar
  (Shenanigames ), students are divided into four
  groups.

Each group chooses any two of the four Martial
arts mentioned in the reading text.

• In class, students read a brief article about the
  two martial arts they chose (similar to one they
  studied in the reading text) and helped by the
  teacher fill in a compare and contrast organizer.
  

• Regardless of the martial art each group of
  students chooses, they will all look at
  definition, history, and philosophy.
