Petition of the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture
to the Ministry Of Agriculture
  • New law should be prepared until February 2005.
  • Commercial distribution and import should be
    authorized on occasion.
  • 20 of the value as retention, payback 3 month
    after the end of production cycle.
  • At least 1000m isolation of GMO plantations.

  • The producer of GMO seeds or commercial products
    should publicize the exact location and area of
    the GMO plant fields 3 month before sowing.
  • The producer should pay a collateral (at least
    100EUR/acre, that should be used as a
    compensation if the conventional producers
    plantation gets contaminated, or if the producer
    of contaminated seeds do not want to sell its
    contaminated product the GMO seed producer must
    buy it.

  • The distributor of GMO seeds should buy all the
    crop that has been produced by its seed material.
  • The costs of laboratory tests for the producers
    of non-GMO crop should be paid by farmers who
    produce GMO products in the 1500m distance.
  • The Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture would
    welcome the total ban of GMO production in
    Hungary to preserve our country as a GMO free
    region.
