The Creeks
  • By Kayla, Tiffany, Krystina, Suzy , and Chris

Where the Creek Lived
  • The lived in Georgia and Alabama.
  • They had a winter house and a summer house.
  • The summer house had no walls just a round roof.
  • Sometimes there were rivers running between the
    houses.

Homes
  • Every southeast village had a large place where
    it opens where people got together for games,
    meetings and feasts.
  • The Great House was were they had their meetings,
    celebration, and other events.
  • After the settlers, they built their houses with
    a frame that was made out of bent poles.
  • The houses also had a wall that was made out of
    brown logs to keep them safe.

Games
  • Games were important to the Creeks.
  • They played stick-ball, but they called it the
    Little Brother of War.
  • The ball was made of animal hair rolled up
    tightly and wrapped in deerskin.
  • The sticks were used to toss the ball between
    players until they got close enough to fling the
    ball through the goal post.

  • They pretended the dolls were their babies.

    or 13 years old.

  • On the Trail of Tears about 60,000 Southeastern
    were sent to the west.
  • About 17,000 people got kicked out of their land.
  • The heat and the disease killed many people.

  • John Ross the leaders wife died along The Trail
    of Tears.
  • By late March in 1839, the last Cherokee Indians
    reached Oklahoma.
