Motivation

• wireless networks, sensor and mobile devices
  increase
• - location is an important component of
  access control
• computer containing top secret information should
  be placed in a designated area.
• In military, control or fire missile from
  specific locations only
• Traditional access control cannot provide such
  location-based access model

Approach

• Based on RBAC, propose one such formal model that
  is suitable for commercial applications.
• How RBAC can be extended to incorporate the
  concept of location.
• - the different components in RBAC are
  related with location
• - location impacts these different
  components.
• How information can be used to determine whether
  a user has access to a given object.
