2How to Tell Youre in Canada
- Youre in the line up and its not for a mug
shot. - You use a cheque to buy a toque in your favourite
colour. - You enrol in classes at the community centre.
- You dont get mail on Saturday.
- Grits are not something to eat.
- You can legally buy cigars and rum from Cuba.
3O Canada
- Canada is comprised of 10 provinces, 3
territories and covers 6 times zones - Canada is from the Iroquois word kanata meaning
village - Canada became a country on July 1, 1867, however
an official flag wasnt adopted until 1965 - Canadas government is a constitutional monarchy
that combines federation and parliamentary
democracy - The only country larger than Canada in area is
the Russian Federation - Canada covers an area of 9 984 670 km2
- At over 200,000 km long, Canada has the worlds
largest coastline.

While only four political parties are represented
in the present government, Canada recognizes many
more .
5 Money Money Money
Canadas currency is very colorful. There are no
dollar bills. Instead Canada has one and two
dollar coins the Loonie and the Toonie. The
coins come in handy for vending machines and
meters.

10 Zero starts with Zed
- In Canada zero is never pronounced O.
- Its a numeral called Zero, right?!
- And Z is called Zed. If you say Z people
- will either give you a blank stare and/or know
- youre from the States ( never America.but
thats - another story)

- Canada adopted the metric system in 1970.
Litres, kilograms and kilometers are the norm
here now although you can still see Imperial
weights and measures being used in some stores.
Temperature is measured in Celsius- that makes 30
degrees a
heat wave!
A click 1km and homo milk is the same as
whole milk
