  • In this session we will look at
  • The various tests required for college admission,
    and how the PSAT fits in.
  • Understanding the importance of preparing for
    tests like the PSAT.
  • Developing an awareness of resources available
    for PSAT prep

The Tests
  • SAT I The Scholastic Assessment Test (formerly
    the Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a test of verbal
    and mathematical ability.
  • PSAT The Preliminary SAT students take this
    test to prepare for the SAT. Students preparing
    with testGEAR for PSAT also have a greater chance
    of earning a National Merit Scholarship, because
    student scores on the PSAT/NMSQT are used as the
    entry vehicle for each year's competition.
  • ACT American College Testing created the ACT to
    assess abilities in areas like math and reading
    comprehension.
