1GMATS Surveys 2002 Report 1001P - Wigan Key
Centre
- This PowerPoint presentation has been created to
accompany GMTU Report 1001 GMATS Wigan Key
Centre report - Whereas report 1001 presents detailed tabulations
with little commentary, this presentation has
been designed to provide the commentary about the
data
2GMATS Surveys 2002 Report 1001P - Wigan Key
Centre
- The presentation has been designed so that it can
be used independently of GMTU Report 1001 for
those who want an overview of the traffic
movements around Wigan but do not wish to see the
detailed tabulations - GMTU Reports 1001 1001P are part of a series of
reports presenting the data from the 2002 GMATS
surveys
3GMATS Surveys 2002 Wigan Key Centre
- Travellers leaving Wigan Key Centre by car bus
were asked about their journeys as they crossed a
cordon around the centre - Rail passengers boarding at both Wigan stations
were also interviewed - This presentation gives an overview of the
findings from those surveys - It considers first people who had visited the
Centre, then those travelling through

centre. The reason for this was to maximise the

inside a cordon defined by the railway line to
the south and west, the A49 to the east and
B5375/Frog Lane to the north - This latter cordon defines the Key Centre used in
