loads. Must be loaded into closed cargo space
unless all packages are fire and water resistant
and covered with a fire and water resistant
tarp. Must be kept dry during transport and
during loading and unloading.

or roll packages. Protect from other cargo that
might puncture or cause damage. If loading by
hand, load breakable containers of corrosive

not load nitric acid above any other product.

er load a package labeled POISON or POISON
INHALATION HAZARD in the driver's cab or sleeper.
Do not load in the same vehicle with animal or
human food unless the POISON package is over
packed in an approved way. (Mouthwash,
toothpaste, and skin creams are not considered
food.)

Parking and Driving Rules
Do not smoke or carry a lighted cigarette, cigar,
or pipe within 25 ft. of vehicle. You may park a
placarded vehicle (not laden with explosives)
within 5 ft. of the traveled part of the road
only if your work requires it. Keep the stop as
short as possible. Someone must watch the vehicle
at all times whenever it is parked on a public
roadway or shoulder. Do not uncouple a trailer
carrying hazardous materials and leave it on a
public street. Do not park within 300 ft. of an
open fire.
