Plan for Energetic Particle Simulations using
M3DGuoyong Fu 12/14/2006

• M3D simulation of fast ion-driven TAE had been
  demonstrated (n1 TAE in a 2 period QAS, Strauss
  et al, 2005, Nucl. Fusion).
• We are focusing on tokamak simulations at
  present. ( NSTX, D3D, and ITER)
• Plan to improve and restart M3D for energetic
  particle simulations in stellarators in 2007 or
  2008. LHD collaboration is a possibility.
• Lack of man power to do both tokamak and
  stellarator. We need postdoc and students.
