Investigate all felony crimes which have a U.S.
Army interest to include general, economic and
drug offenses. Provide worldwide criminal
investigative support to all U.S. Army
elements. Conduct protective service operations
or Department of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff,
and Department of the Army.

4Purpose
- To heighten awareness and solicit support or the
Armys effort against Fraud, Waste and Abuse
better known as Economic Crimes. - To make Commanders aware of the problem of
illegal distribution, possession and use of
drugs. - To make Commanders aware of the problem with
property crimes and crimes against others known
as General Crimes. -

6General Crimes
- Larceny of Government/Personal Property
(computers, vehicles) - 2000 - 75 cases of property crimes
- 2001 - 23 cases of property crimes
- Soldiers are buying cheap locks that are easily
broken off. - If its important to you, then lock it, light
it, fence it, and count it!
7General Crimes
- Sexual Assault (Rape, Indecent Assault, Sodomy,
Indecent Acts) - 2000 - 29 cases of sexual assault
- 2001 - 19 cases of sexual assault
- Mostly AIT students off post. (Knights Inn,
Robbies, Comfort Inn) - Death cases - 2 suicides
8GENERAL CRIMES
- False Statements - 7 case (mostly rapes)
- Forgery (checks are being stolen from wall
lockers) (cheap locks) - 10 cases - Property stolen from wall lockers
9ECONOMIC CRIME
- Types of Economic Crime Bribery, Graft,
Conflict of Interest Theft of Government Funds
Contract Fraud - BAH/Travel Fraud/Medical Fraud
- 14 cases of BAH/Travel Fraud
- over 160,000.00
- Misuse of IMPAC Card
10LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
- Conduct periodic inspections of accountable items
- physically verify sensitive items by serial
number - Keep accurate records of all paperwork - for
example, maintaining IMPAC card receipts in an
organized file. - Report suspicions of criminal activity

- Possession and Use of Ecstasy
- In 2000 there were 135 positive urinalysis.
- In 2001 there are 56 positive urinalysis

- Once memo is received from ADAPC - report it to
CID immediately IAW AR 195-2 and AR 600-85 - Do not interview soldier before sending them to
CID - Do not attempt to investigate offense - refer to
CID
