FATHER
Refers to an earthly father

On occasions the OT speaks of God as father to
Israel.
God is not specifically addressed as Father in
the Old Testament, however, there are many
allusions to it.

ABBA
It is the name Jesus used in the Garden.

Although ABBA does not appear in the Old
Testament, it is related to AB.

This intimate relationship can only be possessed
and enjoyed by those who accepted by faith the
finished work of the Son.
Abba denotes childlike intimacy and trust, not
immature disrespect.

Ephesians 117 that the God of our Lord Jesus

with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
Father is a term of intimate relationship in
things held in common between the Lord of the
universe and those who have accepted the finish
work of His Son, Jesus Christ.
