• Say Some of you may have noticed the small
  charge of 26.99 on your fee assessment which
  falls under the category of athletics and
  recreation. I am here today to show you what
  that money allows you access to here on the
  University access.

Clare Drake Arena

• Show Clare Drake Arena
• Say This is the arena which is named after Clare
  Drake who coached the Bears hockey team for 28
  years and is the most successful coach in the
  history of college hockey. The rink is home to
  both the Golden Bears and Pandas hockey teams as
  well as other recreational programs.

Main Gymnasium

• Show the main gymnasium
• Say This is the main gymnasium. Here there is
  space to play basketball on one of the three
  courts, volleyball on one of the four courts or
  badminton on one of the twelve courts.

Steadward Centre

• Show the steadward centre
• Say This is the steadward centre. It is a
  specialized fitness centre for people with
  physical disabilities.

Aquatic Centre

• Show the west pool
• Say There are two pools which make up the
  aquatic center. This is the west pool. It is
  the larger of the two pools. There is also the
  east pool. If you are interested in renting
  locks and towels they can both be rented from the
  equipment room. Locks can be rented for 2.00
  and towels can be rented for 1.50.

Fitness and Lifestyle Centre

• Show the fitness and lifestyle centre
• Say This is the fitness and lifestyle centre.
  It is open 6am to 10 pm Monday to Friday. It is
  open 8am to 6 pm on Saturday and 9am to 6 pm on
  Sunday.

Weight Training Area

• Show the weight training area
• Say This is the weight training area. It is
  located directly north of the fitness and
  lifestyle centre.

Pavilion

• Show the pavilion
• Say This is the Butterdome Pavilion. It is open
  to users with a valid ONEcard. The following
  items are not permitted in the pavilion
  bicycles, in-line skates, scooters, skateboards,
  pets, baseballs and bats, lacrosse sticks and
  balls, climbing on bleachers, punting of ball or
  any other activity considered dangerous to the
  facility or other users.

Climbing Complex

• Show the climbing wall
• Say This is the climbing complex. It offers a
  wide variety of climbing experiences including
  bouldering and top-rope climbing on some of the
  highest climbing structures in Canada.

Multi-purpose gymnasium

• Show one multi-purpose gymnasium
• Say This is one of three multi-purpose
  gymnasiums. It can be converted into a variety
  of configurations. This room can also be
  converted to two different volleyball courts or 4
  badminton courts.

Squash Courts

• Show a squash court
• Say This is one of seven squash courts. The
  courts can be booked at the equipment room
  between 730 a.m. and 800 p.m. You will require
  a valid ONEcard and bookings must be made in
  person. You should plan to book the courts one
  or two days in advance and you cannot book more
  than one court at a time.

Racquetball Courts

• Show a racquetball court
• Say This is one of seven racquetball courts.
  The booking procedure is the same as the squash
  courts. Unbooked courts are available on a first
  come first served basis. If a booked court is
  not occupied within 10 minutes of the scheduled
  booking time, it becomes available of a first
  come first served basis. The unbooked courts can
  not be used for individual practice if a singles
  or doubles match is waiting to occupy the courts.
