5GRADING POLICIES
- Formal Grading - Standard Percentage Grades A
90-100, B 80-89, C 70-79, D 60-69, F
0-59 - Informal grading. Not all assignments are
entered into the gradebook for averaging. - Assignments should be completed by the due date.
If homework is received one day late, the grade
drops 10, two days late the work is worth 50,
thereafter it is a zero. - Mid-terms. I strive to keep my grade book as
up-to-date as possible. Official midterms for D
and F grades will be sent out during the middle
of each quarter.
6Online Grades
- Grades will be posted online at my website.
- Grades will be updated every three weeks.
- Passwords are assigned based on student ID
numbers. - Log-ins and passwords will be sent home end of
next week. - If you want a hard copy of grades, please let me
know.

Houghton Mifflin Reading Program A literature
based, integrated program which exposes ALL
students to significant literary works along with
real world resources (magazine, etc) provides
for the integration of reading, writing,
listening, and speaking uses collaborative
learning and higher level thinking skills, and
builds on students interests and experiences.
Reading emphasis will be on comprehension and
vocabulary development. Some of the skills
expected of a 4th grader are recognizing story
elements Character analysis, setting, plot,
sequence, conclusion, relationships and
motivations of characters, and comparing/
contrasting. Students will achieve success by
guided reading lessons using grade level text and
self-selected texts (individual reading levels).
My main goal is to motivate students to read.
