Welcome to Getting Started With Compass
Learning Please view this power point before
starting.
Step 1 Do a SYSTEM REQUIREMENT check on your
computer.
Step 2 Install any software needed to run
Compass from your computer at home. Here is a
list of software needed Internet Explorer (Win)
5.5 SP2 or 6.0 or Netscape 7.1 or greater
Macromedia Flash Player 7.0 or greater Adobe
Acrobat Reader 4.05 or greater Windows Media
Player 6.4 or greaterApple QuickTime Player
Macromedia Shockwave Player 8.5 or greater Sun
Java Virtual Machine 1.4.2 or greater
Step 3 Students user name is - first name
spacelast name. (Example John Smith) The
password is MVES and the last four digits of your
social security number. (MVES)

When you go to the Compass website, you will need
to do the system requirement check. (Flashing
arrow points to where you will need to click.)

The System Requirements check will tell you what
software and hardware requirements are needed.
Click on the Check System when you are on the
official website.

Any software that is needed will have a ? in the
last column. You will need to click on the link
to install the software.

P Means your software is ok ? Means you need to
download and install software

Remember to install only the software you need.
Some download sites will want you to download
other items. Please uncheck any items you do
not want to download.
