student population of about 7,000 - The Aviation Management program started in 1986,

- Airport management , operations and planning
courses - Opportunities exist at small, medium and large
airports. Graduates work at Calgary, Ottawa,
Lake Simcoe Regional, Toronto City Centre and the
L.B.Pearson International Airport (and many other
airports across Canada)

- Airport Management and Planning courses will help
graduates prepare for airport planning careers - Excellent opportunities for Airport Planners
around the world due to expansion at existing
airports, new ones being built and Georgian
College graduates are working in Canada, U.S.,
and in Europe - Operations of airports are becoming increasingly
sensitive to environmental regulations

- Students work with dispatchers for co-op jobs
- Graduates work at many airlines, such as Air
Canada, Air Transat, Skyservice and Air Georgian
for example
11Airline Pilot
A340 on approach
- Most airlines require post-secondary education in
addition to a commercial pilot license. For
example - Air Canada normally requires 3,000 hours of
flight time and a college diploma or university
degree - Air Georgian requires at least 1,000 hours of
flight time to be a co-pilot on a single engine
Caravan - Currently, there are two Flight Schools located
at the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport, just a 10
minute drive north from the college campus

- Since September 11, 2001, the world of aviation
has undergone great changes in security
awareness, regulations and requirements - New career options are becoming available to
individuals with aviation expertise and work
experience including CSIS and CBSA

- Corporate Flight co-ordinator, corporate flight
planning, charter, and medevac services - Sales, customer service, ground handling
services, fuelling, graduates at SkyService
