2
Topic
  • Can you make a shoebox fly?

3
Question
  • Do different heights affect the glide slope
    ratio of a shoebox glider?

4
Hypothesis
  • If a scientist throws seven gliders each throw
at the same height and in the same place by the
same person then the glider will fly to the
number of feet, and if built right, when the
glider stops and falls it should not crash , and
the glide slope ratio should be close to perfect.

5
Materials
  • Shoebox
  • Foam board
  • Tape
  • Hot glue gun
  • Hot glue sticks
  • Insulation board
  • Scissors
  • Box cutter

6
Procedures
  • Locate a place that has no wind such as a gym
  • Determine the height you want to throw the
gliders from by using the step ladder
  • Find one person to throw all the gliders at the
    height chosen
  • Have different person get a meter stick and hold
    it at the chosen height
  • Have the person you chose to throw the gliders
    one at a time
  • After each glider is thrown record the distances
  • Repeat steps 4-6 to each glider, so that each
glider is thrown three times, and you have three
records how high each one went
