Becoming Baptist Men On Mission
  • Sean Taylor
  • Strategist, Adult Mission Education

2
Why Mission Education?
  • What if every Christian were on-mission?
  • What if every church were fulfilling its purpose?
  • What if every church were reaching its community
    and the world?
  • What if every Christian could discover his or her
shape or fit for living out the Great
    Commission?

3
Why Mission Education?
  • For the North American Mission Board, mission
education is a new responsibility for a new
agency and is seen as vitally important to our
task of mobilizing Christians for the Great
    Commission.

4
Why Mission Education?
  • To encourage the spiritual transformation of
    regular Christians into on-mission Christians,
    using Mission Education organizations, resources,
strategies and events designed to awaken
Christians and churches to personal involvement
in the Great Commission, help them to make
adjustments that allow them to actively join God
on-mission, and grow to be passionate advocates
    for worldwide mission causes.

    you fishers of men.

13
Why Bother?
  • Matthew 2818-20
  • All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very
    end of the age.

14
Why Bother?
  • 2 Corinthians 517-20a
  • Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature old things are passed away behold, all
things are become new. And all things are of God,
who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus
Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of
reconciliation To wit, that God was in Christ,
reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing
their trespasses unto them and hath committed
unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we
are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did
    beseech you by us

15
Why Bother?
