• Last year, Wellford Elementary raised over 3,000
  for the American Cancer Society to help find a
  cure for Cancer. This year, our goal is
• 5,000!
• Do you want to help?

Heres the FACTS.

• 1,500 people lose their battle to cancer each
  day.
• Cancer does NOT have an age, color, race, or
  gender. 1 out of every 4 people will be diagnosed
  with some form of cancer.
• Cancer effects everyone and we want to help!
  Regardless of age, color, race, or gender, we ALL
  can come together and help find a cure!

What is the American Cancer Society?

• The American Cancer Society is the largest source
  of private, not-for-profit cancer research in the
  United States.
• In 2007, more than 434 million went to current
  research grants nationwide to aid in finding a
  cure for cancer.

SO, whats Relay for Life?

• Relay for Life is an event sponsored by the
  American Cancer Society.
• It is a night to celebrate our fundraising for
  Spartanburg county.
• It is a night to remember those who have won or
  lost their battle with cancer.
• It is a night to fight back by helping find a
  cure.

• Relay for Life is an all night event.
• Cancer never sleeps, so why should we?
• Each team has a campsite to enjoy good company
  and to have fun!

The luminary ceremony is held at night. It is to
honor all of those who have fought their battle
with cancer and won. It is also a night to
remember all of those who have fought their
battle with cancer and lost.
