Project Timeline

• March Began user acceptance testing of views of
  NewMMARS data in the CIW
• April End-users may submit security request
  forms for NewMMARS data in the CIW
• May 28th NewMMARS goes live, chart of accounts,
  vendor and budget data available in the CIW
• June 1st LCM goes live, configuration/profile
  data available in the CIW on June 2nd
• July 1st Remaining NewMMARS and LCM data
  (except labor distribution) available in the CIW
• July 14th LCM labor distribution data in the CIW

• Four Components
• Source Queries through application
• Source Reports not viewable via View Direct,
  available via Doc Direct web portal
• CIW Queries
• CIW Reports available via Doc Direct web portal
  or via CIW web portal

NewMMARS Information Delivery

• Keep in mind that
• NewMMARS is a new system
• Every MMARS report will not be available as a
  NewMMARS report
• CIW/NewMMARS data structures are different from
  CIW/MMARS data structures - data from the two
  source systems will not be combined in the CIW
• Existing CIW queries will not work for NewMMARS
  data in the CIW

Source System Reports

• MMARS reports are viewable in View Direct or with
  the Doc Direct client
• These will also be viewable via the new Doc
  Direct web portal
• NewMMARS reports are PDFs, and can only be viewed
  via a new Doc Direct web portal, or with a new
  Doc Direct client

• NewMMARS source reports
• Generally system assurance and audit trail
  reports
• Generated overnight, directly against the
  NewMMARS application
• Will be available via a new Doc Direct web portal

• NewMMARS source reports are fixed format
• Pre-defined layout
• Pre-determined execution schedule
• Non-interactive
• Not all MMARS reports will be recreated as
  NewMMARS reports

CIW Views

• View structures for NewMMARS data differ
  significantly from those for MMARS data in the
  CIW
• Functionally-specific with more data elements in
  each
• Field descriptions included in main views instead
  of in separate views
• Fewer joins will be required

• Grouped logically by business area
• Include change management info (Who entered
  document? Who approved it?)
• M_AP_Expenditure_Detail
• Functional areas include AP, AR, BU, FA, GA, PR,
  LCM

• Data structures resemble structures found in the
  source system (designed for data entry)
• Cumbersome, require joins to many tables
• CIW views of NewMMARS data
• Data structures designed specifically to support
  querying and reporting
• Fewer joins required between views

CIW Queries

• As always, ad hoc
• Defined according to specific end-user
  requirements
• Use the tools that youre familiar with
• NEW for NewMMARS data the CIW team will release
  a set of standard queries that address areas of
  broad end-user interest

• CIW/NewMMARS reports
• Generally system assurance and reports of
  interest to departmental end-users
• Generated directly against the CIW (all are
  executed after CIW opens)
• Will be available via Doc Direct web portal and
  CIW reports web portal
• Some are NewMMARS versions of MMARS reports,
  others are new

• Pre-defined layout
• Pre-determined execution schedule
• Most recent generation available via CIW web
  portal
• All generations available via Doc Direct web
  portal (depending on specific report retention

• Two levels available Statewide and Departmental
• If you require more than your own department,
  request statewide
• CIW Security includes security for access to CIW
  reports
• No need to apply separately
• Does not include Doc Direct security

• CIW web site
• Report listing, view details
• Eventually will include standard queries
• CIW User Group Meetings, drop-in sessions
• Beginning in early May
