BUI Enforcement Seminars
  • This years schedule of BUI seminars has one
    ongoing (Michigan) and two regular seminars
    remaining, in Montana and Indiana
  • NASBLA will present the first BUI Train the
    Trainer seminar this June in Nashville,
    Tennessee

Staged Collisions
  • This is a two-year project. The first staged
  • collisions will be held this fall in Virginia.

NASBLA still needs boats donated for use in
staged collisions. Anyone with possible boat
donation should contact Chris Moore at NASBLA
office.

Field Sobriety Test Validation
  • This is a multi-year project, starting 2007 and
    scheduled to be completed in 2009.
  • Work began with collection of more than 550 BUI
    arrest records from 10 states. Preliminary
    results show HGN is best candidate for tests in
    marine environment.

Boating Accident Reporting (BAR) Manual
  • First draft been completed and submitted to
    BAIRAC for review and approval.
  • After BAIRAC update, Coast Guard-449, Standard
    Method of Reporting, must be approved by the
    Coast Guard.
