shortage areas, known as Dental Health
Professional Shortage Areas (DHPSAs). - The report found fundamental flaws in the
methodology and use of the criteria, upon which
California bases many of its workforce programs.

- California is one of the most diverse regions of
the country. - Dentistry is the least diverse of all the health
professions.
