  • Impending Preschool for All ballot initiative
  • The Planning Council is due for another five year
    comprehensive needs assessment
  • Our infant and toddler licensed child care supply
    continues to serve only a fraction of those who
    need it

  • County-wide consensus on the vision and goals
  • Analysis of potential policy and regulatory
    changes that would enhance existing resources and
    funding for all age groups

    the importance and standing of the Planning
    Council and eliminated extra work and hassle
    choosing a new and separate committee

  • Refinement of data and design to meet plan
    required by the PFA initiative
  • Coordination and enlistment of all local school
    districts and community based providers to
    develop and begin implementation of county-wide
    PFA programs
  • Determine ramp-up and implementation process

Lessons Learned?
  • Look at the big picture
  • Leveraging resources will help other age groups
    and garner greater support from the child care
    community
  • Build on what you have (data, experts)
  • There are lots of resources out there
  • Try to get people on the same page early!
  • Messaging is important
  • Talk about it all the time to everyone you know
