BACKGROUND

• The PSEA was launched in June 2002, as an
  initiative to demonstrate the Gauteng Provincial
  Governments resolve to actively implement the
  Batho Pele principles, value positive service
  delivery initiatives and recognize teams of
  public servants which went the extra mile in
  ensuring that GPG effectively and efficiently
  delivers on its priorities in improving the lives
  of the people of Gauteng

• OBJECTIVES
• Showcase and celebrate positive work done by GPG
  departments
• Recognise and encourage service excellence by GPG
  project teams
• Serve as a platform for networking and sharing
  best practices
• Foster commitment to and implementation of the
  Batho Pele principles
• Inculcate a sense of belonging, caring and
  serving
• Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement,
  innovation and excellence.
• Reward Departments who have excelled in achieving
  the five year mandate.
