  metamorphosis and why?
• Why are butterflies different colors?
• What do butterflies eat?

Unit Objectives

• The children will understand symmetry,
  assimilation (The integration of new knowledge or
  information with what is already known) and
  accommodation (adaptation to a new situation)
• The child will be able to understand change, how
  change occurs and how to analyze change.
• The child will also be able to interpret why all
  living things change.

Unit Activities

• Creating (with dry noodles) a map of the
  development stages for butterflies.
• Creating a Brochure of where they would travel if
  they were a butterfly.
• Taking a virtual tour of a butterfly farm
  (drawing what they saw).
• Growing Butterflies in the classroom.
