NURSERY SCHOOL

• For children aged 3 to 6 years old, on their
  parents own decision.
• The school day lasts 6 hours. Wednesdays are
  free.
• The competences developed are communication,
  motricity, arts as well as a preparation to
  reading and writing
• THERE ARE 3 FORMS
•  PETITE SECTION 
   MOYENNE SECTION 
   GRANDE SECTION

The primary school

• Children study mathematics, French, history,
  geography, civic artistic and physical education,
  as well as an initiation to a foreign language.
• A school day lasts approximately from 8am to 12am
  and 2pm to 4pm.

Cours préparatoire ( CP ) (about 6 years old)
Cours élémentaires 1 et 2 (about 7 and 8 years
old)
Cours moyens 1 et 2 (about 9 and 10 years old)

SECONDARY SCHOOL
 Le collège 

• There are 4 levels, the 6th, the 5th, the 4th,
  the 3rd.
• A school day approximately lasts from 8 am to 12
  am and 1 pm to 6 pm
• It is assessed by an exam  the brevet des
  collèges

• It is the end of the compulsory
  education and leads to 3 choices
•  Lycée général 
•  Lycée professionnel 
• Apprenticeship

SECONDARY SCHOOL
 Le Lycée général

• The first year is common to all, but you get
  specialised into litterature, sciences or
  economics during the two last years.
• During the last year French pupils all study
  philosophy.
• It is assessed by a degree  le baccalauréat 
  which allows you to take further studies.

VOCATIONAL SCHOOL

• Its a professional school it means that it
  prepares to a job. After 2 years, the pupils get
  a degree.
• It allows you both to work or to take further
  studies.

APPRENTICESHIP

• The pupils are prepared to a job. They spend two
  weeks at school and two weeks at a working place.
  They get a salary.
• After two years the competences are being
  assessed and youre entitled to work.
