Current project status
  • April 29th MMS Issued Final OCS Regulations
  • June 09 Bluewater will receive MMS lease for
    meteorological tower and all permits by
    August.
  • Bluewater will submit a bid to Maryland to
    supply state government agencies with energy
    from the Delaware project
  • August 09 Bluewater will submit OCS lease
    application with MMS
  • Spring 10 Bluewater will erect a meteorological
    tower

Delaware Project
  • Project Size 230 - 450 MW (up to 150 turbines)
  • Closest turbine about 13 highway miles east of
    Rehoboth
  • Transmission cable 230kV cable connected to the
    Indian River substation traveling from the
    Bethany substation
  • Offshore Construction Start Date Expected 2013
  • Completion Date Expected 2013 2014 (depends on
    project size)

Construction methodology
  • In order to minimize disturbance within the
    intertidal zone, horizontal directional drilling
    (HDD) will be used to install a 20-inch diameter
    high density polyethylene (HDPE) conduit for each
    of the submarine cables
  • Work will be conducted over a period of
    approximately eight weeks during non-summer
    season months
  • The HDD will be staged at the onshore end of the
    conduit and would involve boring from the land
    end of the conduit toward the offshore end of the
    conduit located in a cofferdam.
  • Excavation of one or two 8 x 35 foot transition
    vault(s) would be required
