2Introduction
Regional Planning can be braodly definedas
public sector activities encompassingeconomic,
social and physical elements toformulate and
implement appropiate publicpolicy in an area
covering more than oneexisting local
jurisdiction (Lim, 19839)
Decentralisation and regional autonomy currently
implemented in Indonesia started in the year of
2001 under Law no.22, Year of 1999

including Yogyakarta and its surroundings

Area) and ist surroundings-increasing traffic
accidents, air pollution, etc. - rapid land conversion (from agriculture land to
urbanized areas)-reducing agri-products and
live-stocks-inthe rural areas

Were in the process in preparing a more
comprehensive concept for better managing the
region development and the growth of the system
of cities in Yogyakarta Special Province... We
need your inputs and ideas...
