Grants for Starting a Business
2
  • To start a business, you need capital. Raising
capital is a time consuming and difficult
process. You need this capital to start the
business, purchase equipment and materials, pay
    fees, rent and salaries.

3
  • One of the best ways to obtain capital for your
business is through government grants for
business. The government has over 26 government
agencies and there are grant opportunities for
    all kinds of businesses.

4
  • The US Small Business Administration provides
loans for people starting a new business. Many
others offer funds and free consultation.

5
  • The US Government aims to recognize those
entrepreneurs who with their new business can
    make a difference in society.

6
  • Apart from Federal Funding, Local and State level
bodies also administer grants for starting a new
    business.

7
  • Private organizations and corporations also
provide grant monies that they receive from
government grants or private donors to enable
businesses to do research and development,
    provide jobs and training.

8
  • Grant money is free and does not have to be
repaid to the funder like loans do. However,
there may be requirements that the grantee must
meet, and the grantee may be subject to reporting
    requirements as well.
