1Alison Lowe An Example for other Young People
2Despite a busy schedule where she is working on
her Ph.D in Clinical Psychology, Alison Lowe
makes time to serve the community in many
different ways. She has done everything from
tutor children to working with the elderly to
helping abroad in humanitarian endeavors. She is
willing to participate in however she is needed,
and gives generously of her time to those in
need. A combination of strong leadership
qualities and caring heart make her a role model
for many young people. A few of these activities
include
3Youth Coordinator
- In June 2006, she was the Youth Coordinator for
an Asian Heritage Event which was sponsored by
the Department of Multiculturalism and Canadian
Identity in British Columbia where Chinese WWII
Veterans were honoured.
4Service To Children
- Alison Lowe worked as a Youth Fellowship leader
and also as a Sunday school teacher at Lords
Peace Chapel in the Vancouver, British Columbia.
She taught children from Grades 1 to 5. She
arranged daily camp activities during summer and
during the school year, she organized Friday
night activities.
5Healthcare Alison participated in numerous
mission trips where she was a medical or dental
assistant in Mexico, Oregon and Vietnam. In
Vancouver, she worked as a Medical Office
Assistant in a Family Practice Clinic and as as
Assistant in a Traditional Chinese Medicine
Clinic. In partnership with Vancouver Coastal
Health she arranged for a weight loss seminar and
was one of the speakers
6Sharing Hands Community Kitchen
- Alison Lowe was the project coordinator and the
co-founder of Sharing Hands Community Kitchen
where she supported and treated women who are
affected with psychological and eating problems.
