Family Based Immigrant Visas
Family Members of a US Citizen / Immediate
Relative These types of visas are based on a
close family relationship with a United States
(U.S.) citizen described as an Immediate Relative
(IR). These visas do not have a limit each fiscal
year.
IR1 Spouse of a US citizen IR2 Children under
21 of a US citizen IR3 Orphan adopted by a US
citizen IR4 Orphans that will be adopted by a US
citizen within the US. IR5 Parents of a US
Citizen who is at least 21 yrs. old at the time
of the petition.

Our Team
Filex Sanchez-Principle
Immigration Attorney I am an immigration
attorney, and am proud to be helping families,
investors, businesses and professionals in all
aspects of immigration law. I am proud of my
Mexican heritage being the son of Mexican
immigrants who came to the U.S. to be able to
offer my siblings and me a better life. Through
my parents hard work and effort, they were able
to provide a quality education, allowing me to go
to the University of San Diego and major in
Business Economics and Political Science.
Afterward, I went to the University of San Diego
School of Law where I received a Juris Doctor
(JD) and become a member of the State Bar of
California.
Erika Rodriguez- Associate Attorney
Erika Rodriguez joins our team with over eight
years of experience in the legal field.
Originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico,
Erika received her Law Degree from the University
of Guadalajara in 2005. She first gained
experience working at the Mexican Patents and
Trademarks Office (Instituto Mexicano de la
Propiedad Industrial). After six years with the
Mexican Patents and Trademarks Office, Erika was
presented with an opportunity to immigrate to San
Diego.Soon after moving to San Diego, Erika
enrolled in the LL.M in Comparative Law Program
at California western School of Law, where she
graduated cum laude in 2008. 
Carlos Santana Legal Assistant Foreign Counsel
Carlos Santana was born in San Diego, California,
and raised in Tijuana, Baja California Mexico.
Carlos always knew he wanted to help out his
community and decided to study law in Universidad
Autonoma de Baja California where he received a
law degree specializing in Administrative and
Constitutional Law. Upon graduating, he worked
for Mexican Customs and thereafter, he clerked as
the Federal Courthouse in Tijuana, Baja
California, before joining Union Law Group, in
early 2009.

Jesus Grijalva Legal Assistant Foreign Counsel
Jesus Grijalva was born in San Diego, CA, and
raised in Tijuana, Baja California Mexico. Always
active in his community and passionate about
helping others, Jesus knew he wanted to pursue a
career in the legal field. He decided to study
law in Universidad Autonoma de Baja California,
where he received a Law Degree specializing in
Administrative and Constitutional Law. Upon
graduating, he worked for prestigious Mexican
Notario 3, Xavier Ibanez and soon thereafter,
practiced Civil Law in Tijuana, Baja California.
Looking to further expand his knowledge base and
his ability to help people, Jesus joined Union
Law Group in 2012.
