Shoeholics Alert
  • "Sex and the City" fans span the world over the
US, UK, India, Australia, China, Japan. Name a
country. They've probably got show re-runs on air
with a cult following to boot. And we've
pinpointed the reason why. Empowerment. Carrie
and her friends give women a sense of
empowerment, and there's no cultural barrier that
can contest that. Carrie, played by the ever
talented Sarah Jessica Parker, managed to
appeal to women everywhere since she wasn't
afraid to put her vulnerability on display,
reveal her deepest, darkest secrets, and as a
rule of thumb, always 'kept it real.' After all,
she wrote about everything under the sun in her
column - relationships, friendships, and what it
means to be an independent woman in this day and
age. It was so refreshing! Read more..

IIFA's Best Dressed
  • Move over Hollywood, Bollywood has arrived. That
was the recurring theme as Bollywood stars
flocked to Tampa Bay for the 15th annual IIFA
awards. We were happy to see that so many stars
chose to break from the mold and wear western
gowns for the occasion. Here are a few worth
    mentioning. Read more..

East Meets West
  • Can you tell what's east and what's west anymore?
The worlds have collided, the trends have merged,
and the designers are enjoying this amalgamation
with every single swatch. We found six top trends
from Lakme Fashion Week and have juxtaposed them
with luxury western makes and our very own
    partnered brands. Read more

The Return of the Crop Top
  • Did you know crop tops were all the rage in the
70s? Fashioned with over-sized bow ties and
paired with denim bell bottoms, they aptly
personified the dogma of the times - Let Loose.
Be Free. Fight with Flower Power. Crop tops are
no longer a source of your mum's nostalgia (and
hidden sexy youth!) and have surprisingly made
their comeback in a BIG way. We saw them crop up
at several collections at Lakme Fashion Week
Resort 2014 including Nishka Lulla, Veda Raheja,
Jade by Monica and Karishma, Kunal Anil Thanna,
and Nikhil Thampi. It's no wonder Indian
designers are getting it right...it's essentially
a western take on the lehnga! Read more..

Nanette Lepore
  • When it comes to food and fashion, one name comes
to mind who has made her mark in both industries
with aplomb - Harmeet Bajaj. A staple on the
Delhi scene, she's a magazine editor, fashion
    choreographer, interior designer, and now
co-owner of the fine dining chain Smoke House
Deli, which is sprouting  up all over the country
with locations in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.

DL1961
  • The Jean Machine..
  • Many would agree that Kate Moss kickstarted the
skinny jean trend, which is a kind of a big deal
when you think about it. Can you pinpoint the
supermodel who popularized bell bottoms in their
    heyday? See?! Read more..

Sophia Beckford
  • London-based luxury handbag designer Elle
Tyree has made her mark in Europe and is now
taking the rest of the world by storm. Her
label, Sophia Beckford, boasts handbags that
double as art. We caught up with Elle to find out
how she created a niche for herself in a
    saturated market with her jaw-dropping,
    eye-popping, resplendent creations. Read more
