What's the Meaning of Marked Playing Cards?
2
  • When we shuffle and spread a pack of cards, we
can see there are 54 cards in total. Although we
often play cards in our spare time, but actually
there are few people knowing the exact meaning of
each marked playing card. Except for two jokers,
the other 52 playing cards represent 52 weeks in
    a whole year.
  • Amid four poker suits, spade stands for spring,
heart for summer, club for autumn and diamond is
for winter. Every set of suit has 13 cards
inside, which represents a quarter of a year (13
weeks). There is an interesting thing that if you
take time to count the points every poker suit,
you will be surprised to find that the total is
91, which is equal to 91 days in a quarter of a
year. What's more, there are only two colors of a
complete pack of marked playing cards.

  • Their colors are red and black. Interestingly, it
is said that the red color means the day while
the black means the night. As for the meaning of
poker suits, people in different countries have
different interpretations. In China, people think
the four suits as four seasons in nature. In
France, the Frenchmen take them as spear, square,
clove leaf and red heart. In Italy, the Italians
consider them as sword, coin, walking stick and
wine glass, while in Britain, the British look
poker suits as scoop, diamond, clover and heart.
  • Although different countries have their unique
interpretations of the four suits of marked
playing cards, the meanings are interesting. If
you would like to know more about poker, dice,
domino, poker calculator, etc, you can visit
