• There are so many people in our country who are
  ailing from dangerous diseases, and due to the
  lack of basic facilities, half of the population
  cannot get an access to the treatments. This is
  so heart wrenching that a country with such a
  huge population and large number of professional
  physicians can't reach out to those who cannot
  afford the costly expenses of the treatment. So
  many people die and their cases are not even
  reported, and most of them are unaware of their
  disease.

• The dilemma is that most of the citizens of the
  fastest developing economy are below the poverty
  line, and in spite of so many schemes and plans
  for the downtrodden, the facilities maintain a
  distance from this section of the society. Lack
  of awareness and education has also been one of
  the factors that these people cannot ask for
  their rights. After the formation of every new
  Government, so many plans are activated for the
  upliftment of this section.

• The health facilities in the hospitals, free
  medical camps, free medication and so many other
  options are opened for them, but they fail to use
  any of these provisions.We as physicians don't
  just have our duty in the hospitals or our
  clinics, but we should be devoted to every
  citizen who is in need, especially those who
  cannot afford expensive treatments. The public
  hospitals are confronting a lot of challenges and
  they cannot solely depend upon them. We hope the
  moment would arrive when these hospitals would
  match the facilities of the private hospitals.

• But, today the situation is different, and all my
  fellow colleagues and physicians from all parts
  of the country, I would like to request you to
  dedicate some of your time towards the poorer
  segment of your society. You can help them in any
  way you want, educate them about the basic
  check-ups, diseases, health, about the current
  running health plans.

• We are a team of physicians from various
  hospitals in Maharashtra, that has been
  organizing health camps for the wretched. These
  camps have helped more than thousands of people,
  and are continuing to do so with high spirits. It
  would be great if my blog enlightens any one of
  you to join hands in making our country healthy
  and safe for our citizens.
