  • Focusing
  • What were are going to do today is to look at
focusing. You see, focusing is an important
technique in lecturing for 2 good reasons. First,
it allows us to draw attention to the key areas
of our topic. And secondly, what happens when we
focus is that we create a sense of dialogue.

SMART Classroom 1/4
  • Smart Classroom research aims at
  • Combining entrepreneurial pedagogy, collaborative
teaching and the latest technological teaching
tools to create a modern and effective education
service environment in higher education setting.

12
SMART Classroom 2/4
  • The second theme of the SMART Classroom concept
is called SMART Teaching Solutions and it deals
with variety of practical teaching tools and
    materials for university teachers.
  • SMART Teaching Tools is a collection of practical
tools that can be used in teaching situations to
support delivery of rich teaching content,
    student engagement and interaction.

13
SMART Classroom 3/4
  • SMART Teaching Materials include for example
exercises and examples that teachers can apply to
    their courses.

14
SMART Classroom 4/4
  • Teaching and Learning Content

15
Scaffolding learning 1/2
  • Scaffolding involves using a range of
conceptual, material and linguistic tools and
    technologies to lead students towards
    understanding
  • The ultimate goal of scaffolding is to support
students in becoming self-directed learners who
can seek out resources and people to support them
    in their ongoing learning.

Flipped classroom 1/2
  • The flipped classroom model is a form of blended
learning that encompasses any use of using
Internet technology to leverage the learning in
your classroom, so that the teacher can spend
more time interacting with students instead of
    lecturing.
  • One model works like this
  • 1. Teacher prepares the class room lectures
beforehand and makes them available to the
students.2. Students on their part will watch
them at their own time and pace to better
understand the concepts and come to the class
well prepared.3. In the regular class teacher
interacts with all the students to do the
classwork/homework as required for the class.
